Home & Living consolidates & digitalises!

Whether it's the furniture bubble or not, everyone in the digital scene has probably noticed the many news items that show the prevailing zeitgeist in the furnishing industry. A few excerpts from the last few weeks:

  • IKEA doubles its E-Commerce sales share to 34% in 2021!

  • XXXLutz Germany absorbs moebel.de Einrichten & Wohnen AG & gets more depth in terms of E-Commerce logic!

  • home24 SE acquires BUTLERS GmbH & Co.KG & sends a clear signal towards omnichannel!

  • Wayfair can maintain the significant share price jump from 2020 in the long run and conquers the huge addressable market in DE!

In my role as co-founder of mokebo, these are exciting developments. They show that we made the right decision in 2018: To be part of one of the last big industries (besides the likes of Pharma & Grocery) to go digital. 🛏️ 🪑

At the same time, through my professional E-Commerce at Amazon past & present at mokebo, I see it as a responsibility to support others in the industry with tips & tricks!

That's why I'm excited about the opportunity to write a guest post three-parter together with Monika Maruschka from ambista - the interior design business network.
